As a system operator are you sure that your metering maintenance procedures
follow the latest "best practice"?
Are you checking all the elements that make up the system and
that could to contribute error?
Are you doing enough to maintain overall metering system
uncertainty?
Do have the
appropriate test equipment for the job?
We have come across operators who did not actually have any
specific metering maintenance procedures, and were just using normal
plant instrumentation calibration methods and test equipment. This
approach is unlikely to maintain the system within its design
uncertainty.
Is your maintenance cost effective? Is it really protecting you from
commercial risk, maintaining
your system uncertainty, and therefore that all important financial
$$$$$ "bottom line"?
HMS can provide you with a full set of "site specific" metering re-validation
and maintenance procedures that follow "best oilfield practice" and
are tailored specifically to your own metering
installations.
Note: There is currently no formal accreditation for carrying out oil or gas metering validations in the UK or USA,
"accreditation" comes from using the correct procedures and appropriate
and correctly certified test equipment.
